The Leidos Innovation Center (LInC) is seeking, a Senior Electro-Optic Research Scientist to join our growing, high-performance sensors research team in the development and application of advanced sensing technologies.
- Support all aspects of research & development, including theoretical modeling, experimental design, data collection, data analysis, and reporting
- Serve as recognized subject matter expert on laser-material interactions spanning UV through IR wavelengths and femtosecond through nanosecond pulse durations
- Support the development of advanced laboratory capabilities, including novel experimental techniques and equipment
- Assist in developing new laboratories, including staffing
- Collaborate across government, industry, and academia on technical activities and planning
- Setup and characterize a wide variety of laboratory equipment and military hardware
To be successful in this role you must possess the following:
- U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance
- BS in physics or engineering with 12+ years’ experience, MS with 10+ years’ experience, or PhD with 8+ years’ experience
- PhD in physics or engineering
- Recognized expert in lasers, laser-material interactions, and experimental methods
- Active Top Secret clearance
- Experience with the Air Force Research Laboratory
