The designee will maintain computer systems, IT networks and etc., at Kandahar, Afghanistan.  

Primary Responsibilities


Responsibilities include:  

    Operate and maintain LAN/WAN SIPR/NIPR networks
    Provide technical and operational support for the operation and administration of network infrastructure (e.g., switches, routers, sniffers, file, application, communication, web, email, domain and CD servers, databases, and inside cable plant as appropriate), including monitoring, troubleshooting, and diagnostics 
    Implement network modifications and administration to include additions, changes, deletions, and configuration of network resources
    Perform other administrative tasks including but not limited to conducting periodic inventories and maintaining site records, maintaining station logs, preparing trouble tickets, preparing reports, etc.
    Provide assistance on creating, altering, or merging Microsoft Suite products
    Conduct over-the-phone and desk-side customer service pertaining to small computer/peripheral assistance
    Network security tasks per DOD/CENTAF guidelines
    Perform network backups 


Basic Qualifications

US citizen with a DoD Secret security clearance (selected applicant will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information).   Position requires a Minimum of two (2) years of experience in design, maintenance, and operation of small to medium networks.   IAT Level II certification required.  Must be a graduate of a high school or a trade school & possess valid US driver’s license with photo.


Education:  High School diploma or GED.  

Experience:  
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in design, maintenance, and operation of small to medium networks.  This experience must include administrating corporate or business’ user accounts managing mail servers, printer servers, WWW servers, and/or firewalls.  Must have experience in reviewing and recommending software applications as well as identifying hardware salient characteristics and any add on devices.  It is highly desirable to have a certification of either MCSE or CCNA.

Must have a minimum of one (1) year of military network support experience to include Microsoft Windows NT Server Operating Systems, and Microsoft mail applications (local and remote).

In addition to the above, the contractor must have experience with Microsoft Active Directory and these additional task qualifications:

    Microsoft Enterprise Server 2000/2003, DHCP, DNS, WINS, Domain Controllers
    Microsoft Exchange 2003, integration into local Domain and overall Enterprise architecture


Preferred Qualifications
