Leidos, as the prime contractor for the United States Antarctic Program, is seeking a talented Systems Engineer to join our team in Centennial, CO to support our customer, the National Science Foundation. This position will involve systems engineering, technology assessments, and infrastructure road mapping across multiple programs, as well as supporting ongoing system integration activities for various elements of the United States Antarctic Program. In this role you will be expected to heavily contribute to business integration outcomes and drive customer success.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Perform technical planning that incorporates multiple technology disciplines, including system hardware, software, and network components.
Support the development and integration, through the assessment of alternatives, verification and validation of system fitness, and fielding.
Evaluate alternatives and factors including risk, supportability, and cost analyses for total systems.
Perform systems requirements analysis, functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition, technical management, integration, and system testing for new or evolving technology systems.
Create and curate technology systems catalogs for hardware/software assets and inventory.
Develop technical solutions, in collaboration with internal experts, deep analyses to understand the impact on end users and products.
Develop solutions to known technical problems and emergent issues that are often unclear, which will require a deep technical knowledge across multiple domains, and cross functional boundaries.
Communicate regularly with internal and client project team members.
Work to influence team members regarding solution design, process and approaches.
Translate technical concepts into presentations and proposals for a non-technical audience.
Required Qualifications:
BS and 4+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2+ years of prior relevant experience. Prior relevant experience includes leading trade studies, performing technology product assessments, systems of systems analysis, and technology planning and cataloging.
PHYSICAL AND / OR OTHER SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS: Deployment to Antarctica may be required in this position, at the discretion of management. This position requires successful completion of the National Science Foundation (NSF) physical, dental, and psychological examinations for deploying to Antarctica. Failure to meet these requirements may result in withdrawal of employment offer or other employment action. US citizenship or permanent residency is required.
