Leidos, as the prime contractor for the United States Antarctic Program, is seeking a talented Database Architect in our Centennial, CO office to support our customer, the National Science Foundation. This position will involve data systems architecture, engineering, and development for ongoing data integration activities across multiple programs, as well as designing and delivering database architectures and platforms for various elements of the United States Antarctic Program. In this role you will be expected to heavily contribute to business integration outcomes and drive customer success.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Perform database development, including the design, development, troubleshooting, and debugging of database management systems.
Enhance the operational effectiveness of the enterprise data warehouse systems and products.
Develop software products and software tools used for design, development and maintenance of the data warehouse platform.
Develop integrated database solutions to known technical problems and emergent issues.
Articulate integrated, data-based solution approaches to organizational problems that are often unclear, which will require deep technical knowledge, and cross functional boundaries.
Communicate regularly with internal and client project team members.
Work to ensure data products, updates, and integrations conform to established data warehouse standards.
Translate technical database concepts into presentations and proposals easily understood by non-technical stakeholders.
BS degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience.
Prior relevant experience includes management of multiple databases within a managed environment; application of information security constraints to database design, implementation, and configuration; working in an agile delivery environment; and data conversion and/or reengineering legacy applications and technologies to new platforms.
Requires deep knowledge of the Microsoft technology stack, including SQL, SQL Management Studio, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, MS Access.
Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Power Platform, including Power BI and related technologies (DAX, M).
Familiarity with Azure and cloud data platforms and data sharing across a tenant environment.
PHYSICAL AND / OR OTHER SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS: Deployment to Antarctica may be required in this position, at the discretion of management. This position requires successful completion of the National Science Foundation (NSF) physical, dental, and psychological examinations for deploying to Antarctica. Failure to meet these requirements may result in withdrawal of employment offer or other employment action. US citizenship or permanent residency is required.
