Leidos is looking for an environmental management Intern to assist in the project management of remediated sites in support of our Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Legacy Management customer in Grand Junction, CO. The successful candidate will be able to work part-time during the school year at an average of 12 hours per week and is studying environmental sciences, engineering, or a related field.
The DOE Office of Legacy Management (LM) is responsible for managing more than 100 legacy Cold War nuclear weapons production sites. The sites have undergone environmental remediation and are subject to ongoing programs of site monitoring and maintenance. The organization is responsible for transfer and ongoing management of former nuclear and nonnuclear test sites outside of the Nevada National Security Site.
The successful incumbent will support the site project manager by developing information sheets summarizing site history and activities at 30 nonnuclear test site. Additional responsibilities include management of site-related information on a SharePoint site.
Local college student who is engaged in a course of study leading to a bachelor’s degree in an environmental management, science, or engineering field.
