Job Description:

Leidos is currently seeking an Aviation Quality Assurance Engineer on the CLS-A program. The quality assurance candidate will support the work performed in Marlton, NJ and travel to Afghanistan, when needed. 

As an Aviation Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be expected ensure compliance to the Leidos Enterprise Processes, AS9100 requirements, IS-BAO and DCMA 82.10.1C requirements.  This will require the implementation of inspections, audits, and assessments. This will also require creation of quality plans and procedures.  Duties will include documenting of audit/inspection results, nonconformances, corrective actions and preventive actions and performing data analytics. 

  • Responsibility for the AS9100 Quality Management System including maintenance of the CLS-A Marlton Facility NQA Certification; Risk & Opportunity Management; Internal and QASP Metrics coordination, analysis, and reporting; analysis and reporting and ad/hoc data analysis for customer reporting requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Duties will include documenting of inspection results, nonconformances, corrective actions and preventive actions and performing data analytics.
  • Working with the individuals responsible for tracking detailed metrics for various functions (i.e., flight ops, Mx, Log, Contracts, etc.), In addition, maintain a summary of the Quality Objective metrics, QASP metrics, and secondary metrics for the program.
  • Perform audits and inspections in accordance with AS9100, AS9100 and 8210.1C
  • Ensuring quality standards to maintain AS9100 and ISO 9100 certifications
  • Ensure Leidos policies and procedures, FAA regulations and customer requirements are being met
  • Executing the corrective action process by generate Corrective Action Requests (CAR) and work with personnel to address
  • Work with teams to conduct Root Cause Analysis
  • Execute continuous improvement process
  • Perform document control and support management reviews
  • Coordinate the subcontractor management assessment process and subcontractor program management reviews
  • Support the Risk and Opportunity Management process and help maintains the Risk Register, captures potential risks through the course of the standard business rhythm and executes as needed deep dives to flesh out risks and mitigation plans.
  • Generate the quarterly Risk Management CDRL for delivery to the USG.
  • Provide inputs to weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports to higher level quality management
  • Deployment and implementation of appropriate QMS processes;
  • Implementing audit practices for internal processes and products
  • Travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations as required for program support and/or audits as needed
  • Provide support to new business development

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and four (4) years of prior relevant experience; additional years of relevant direct experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Experience working in aviation programs in support of defense contracts under DCMA INST 8210.1 / AR 95-20 requirements.
  • Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI
  • Ability to understand, review and approve aviation program manuals, forms, and records.
  • Must be a US Citizen and have a valid passport and willing and able to travel to both CONUS and OCONUS locations as needed (OCONUS travel may include Hardship & Hazardous locations)
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain credentials to access military installations.
  • Must be proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office products.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active DoD TS/SCI
  • Knowledge of FAA Inspection Authorization (IA)
  • Knowledge of six sigma and continuous improvements
  • Knowledge of IS-BAO certification process
