Leidos is seeking a self-motivated Senior IT&C Trainer to manage the United States Antarctic Program (USAP) enterprise-wide technical training program.
In this role, the Senior IT&C Trainer will be responsible for developing and maintaining training materials as well as scheduling classes and presenting curricula, as required. The individual must have a keen eye for detail and excellent oral and written communication skills. Time management skills and the ability to establish reasonable and attainable goals will be essential. The Senior IT&C Trainer will work closely with all departments within the program to identify technical training requirements.
**This position requires deployment to Antarctica twice per year; 30 to 45 days each time. The first deployment would be October to mid-November. The second deployment would be mid-January to mid-February. There may be adjustments to this schedule as needed.**
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Develop and maintain enterprise-wide training plan for USAP applications in collaboration with IT and program stakeholders.
Facilitate interactions with departments throughout the USAP to identify technical training needs for various teams.
Work independently to design training classes including course structure and lesson plans; and tailor training courses for specific work center needs.
Continuously research and amend course content and delivery methods to best meet audience needs.
Schedule and conduct all internal IT training classes as well as maintain attendance records and student feedback results.
Participate as project team member in software implementation planning and execution related to end-user training.
Provide Train-the-Trainer instruction for ASC Subject Matter Experts (SME) to ensure consistent training practices across the enterprise.
Provide Tier 2 support for software issues referred by the ASC Help Desk.
Maintain training rooms at various locations to include space scheduling and equipment operability.
Employ a high degree of tact and diplomacy to promote a positive image of the IT&C division.
Use trade and vendor publications, professional seminars, and corporate sponsored training to maintain expertise on current software releases, training methods and related issues.
Work to achieve Antarctic Support Contract (ASC) goals and contractual commitments.
Perform other duties as assigned.
The Senior IT&C Trainer will also be responsible maintaining a safe workplace program and ensuring safety is the highest priority in the workplace. Complies with applicable safety, environmental, health, and waste management policies and procedure.
Bachelor’s degree related to education/training and 4+ years of prior relevant experience; equivalent experience in training, teaching or user education will be considered in lieu of degree.
Experience must include the development and delivery of IT Training materials and training content (e.g. user manuals, handouts, presentations, training exercises, and web based training).
Advanced user-level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Customer service focus with a strong commitment to providing superior customer support.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interaction at all experience levels.
Strong time management skills and ability to perform the primary functions of the position with minimal supervision in an environment of often changing priorities.
Strong leadership, problem solving, oral presentation, technical writing, planning, and adult-learning/workforce teaching skills.
Hands-on, can-do attitude.
US citizenship or permanent residence is required.
Experience with the following software: IBM Maximo, Permuta Defense Ready, Learning Management Systems.
Advanced user-level knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint.
Experience creating online training tutorials using video development software (IE: Camtasia, Captivate).
MS Windows and Android mobile operating systems.
Experience delivering training in both a classroom and virtual setting.
Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or other training certification/degree.
Strong communication, collaboration and organizational skills.
Self-starting, critical thinking, attention to detail.
**Deployment to Antarctica is required for this position. The individual in the position must successfully complete the physical, psychological and dental examinations as required by the National Science Foundation (NSF) for deploying to Antarctica. Failure to meet these requirements may result in withdrawal of employment offer or other employment action.**
