The Leidos Intelligence Group currently has an opening for a Deputy Service Operations Manager to work in our Springfield, Virginia location. This is an exciting opportunity to use your management skills helping the Information Technology Enterprise Managed Services (ITEMS) User Facing Services (UFS) mission at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). In this mission, we provide NGA with a bridge to the future, strengthening critical ISP services to mission users, harnessing the capacity of current and emerging Intelligence Community Information Technology Enterprise (IC ITE) services, and delivering the Power of GEOINT into the hands of users supporting critical time-sensitive missions. Our team operates and sustains UFS for NGA, provide continuous improvement in the effectiveness and efficiency of UFS, implement special orders to rapidly support mission needs without disrupting daily operations and posture NGA to transition to future IC DTE service offerings.
Primary Responsibilities:
Analyze user’s requirements, concept of operations documents, and high level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications
Analyze system requirements and leads design and development activities
Guide users in formulating requirements, advises alternative approaches, and conducts feasibility studies
Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology
Incorporate new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations
Develop system architecture and system design documentation
Guide system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans
Interact with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts
Responsible for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility
Communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.
Basic Qualifications:
Requires a BA/BS or equivalent experience and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience. Generally has 4+ years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects.
Experience in lieu of degree.
Active TS/SCI with Poly clearance is required
Experience in research and evaluating new concepts and processes to improve performance.
Analyzes cross-functional problem sets, identifies root causes and resolves issues
Assists more junior level technicians, specialists, and managers in their activities
Ability to perform all tasks of lower level technicians, specialists, and/or managers
Individual Work/Teamwork or Leadership/Management:
Works individually, actively participates on integrated teams, and leads multiple tasks, projects or teams
Oversees and monitors performance, and when required, takes steps to resolve issues
Directs multiple teams through to project completion
Provides guidance and direction to lower level technicians, specialists, and managers
