Leidos Enterprise & Cyber Solutions Team is seeking a Security Control Assessor to support newly awarded tasking on a long-term defense contract. This position requires an active DOD Top Secret Clearance and current unexpired DOD 8570 IAT III certification to qualify. Work will be performed out of Waples Mills, VA (Reston Area).
Coordinate with Cyber Defense Analysts to manage and administer the updating of rules and signatures (e.g., intrusion detection/protection systems, antivirus, and content blacklists) for specialized cyber defense applications.
Perform system administration on specialized cyber defense applications and systems (e.g., antivirus, audit, and remediation) or Virtual Private Network (VPN) devices, to include installation, configuration, maintenance, backup, and restoration.
Assist in identifying, prioritizing, and coordinating the protection of critical cyber defense infrastructure and key resources.
Build, install, configure, and test dedicated cyber defense hardware.
Assist in assessing the impact of implementing and sustaining a dedicated cyber defense infrastructure.
Administer test bed(s), and test and evaluate applications, hardware infrastructure, rules/signatures, access controls, and configurations of platforms managed by service provider(s).
Create, edit, and manage network access control lists on specialized cyber defense systems (e.g., firewalls and intrusion prevention systems).
Identify potential conflicts with implementation of any cyber defense tools (e.g., tool and signature testing and optimization).
Implement Risk Management Framework (RMF)/Security Assessment and Authorization (SA&A) requirements for dedicated cyber defense systems within the enterprise, and document and maintain records for them.
Perform other duties as required.
Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Math, Engineering).
With at least sixteen years of general experience of which twelve years is directly related experience, a degree is not required.
Sixteen (16) years direct experience in the last twenty (20) years
Requires current certifications as follows:
DoDI 8530.01 (CSSP Analyst or CSSP Infrastructure Support) certification
Ideal candidate must possess the following skills:
Application of host/network access controls (e.g., access control list), cybersecurity and privacy principles to organizational requirements (relevant to confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, non-repudiation)
Use of incident handling methodologies, Virtual Private Network (VPN) devices and encryption
Ability to secure network communications
Proven experience protecting a network against malware (e.g., NIPS, anti-malware, restrict/prevent external devices, spam filters);
System, network, and OS hardening techniques. (e.g., remove unnecessary services, password policies, network segmentation, enable logging, least privilege, etc.); and
Troubleshooting and diagnosing cyber defense infrastructure anomalies and work through resolution.
Ability to apply cybersecurity and privacy principles to organizational requirements (relevant to confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, non-repudiation)
Advanced Preferred Qualifications
Communicate complex information, concepts, or ideas in a confident and well-organized manner through verbal, written, and/or visual means;
Conduct vulnerability scans and recognize vulnerabilities in security systems;
Produce technical documentation;
Analyze test data;
Translate data and test results into evaluative conclusions; and
Apply network security architecture concepts including topology, protocols, components, and principles (e.g., application of defense-in-depth).
