This role is responsible for CM of operational systems. Works on operational teams to create and maintain configuration baselines (development, test, production, etc.) supporting operational systems. Uses CM tools to implement CM policies and procedures. Implement CM discipline for the entire life cycle of systems from initial requirements/capabilities baselines to system end-of-life. Assist with change control and configuration audits. Perform logistical tasks to effectively insert GFE into the enterprise. Role will be performed at a Leidos facility as well as a government facility.
Follow industry recognized best practices for program management, change management, and configuration control processes to ensure highest quality deliverables and infrastructure performance.
Use configuration management tools to store, track, and manage configuration items in the CM environment.
Lead to operational efficiencies, reduce manpower, lower cost, and ensure a smooth, secure transition of new, upgraded, or redesigned systems.
Examine customer problems, develop and present solutions, and then implements appropriate corrective action to initiate a change.
Support the development and adherence to procedures and policies.
Provide basic mentorship to junior team members
Provide logistical support within the customer’s material depot(s).
Assist with receipt of material and asset tagging.
Assist with transfer of asset data into appropriate CMDBs
Bachelor’s and 4 – 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 – 6 years of prior relevant experience.
Higher level knowledge of configuration management best practices.
Experience providing configuration management on multiple systems and domains.
Experience developing, establishing and implementing CM goals and plans that meet project objectives.
Experience reviewing and documenting configuration management activities for a client.
Experience interfacing with senior management and negotiating with clients on requirements and deliverables.
Proficient in Excel.
Knowledge of automated inventory control systems
Candidate must have a current TS/SCI and CI Polygraph
Expertise with government logistics and supply chain operations.
