Job Description:

The Defense Group of Leidos is excited to announce our opening for a Junior Procurement Specialist on our Air Force National Capital Region Information Technology Services contract on Joint Base Andrews, MD. This role will be responsible for supporting the material acquisition plans for program requirements.
Must have the ability to work with a Program Manager and Government leadership in generating material requirements and providing the necessary support of acquisition plans from start to finish. Individual will be interfacing with Vendors, Logistics, Receiving, and Strategic Sourcing to ensure program milestones are met.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Works with management to ensure a streamlined procurement process of hardware and software against program.

  • Ensures software as a service, perpetual licensing and licenses acquired within the cloud environment is managed according to established regulatory guidance.

  • Works with project managers in generating material requirements and providing the necessary support of acquisition plans from start to finish.

  • Maintains reports and monitors material movement throughout ordering, manufacturing, and receipt sequences.

  • Coordinates forecasts, workload, expediting, and acquisition priority with program team leadership.

  • Provides advice to program as to proper routes to take that will be to the greatest benefit of the procurement strategy.

  • Analyzes material requirements for leveraging opportunities, supplier recommendations, acquisition planning.

  • Engages supply chain (vendor to manufacturing) to determine optimal acquisition strategy.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 5+ year of prior relevant experience. 

  • Microsoft Office knowledge and skills.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

  • Good organization and communication skills.

  • Intermediate Excel experience (Pivot Tables, Charts, v-Lookups, Bar Charts).

  • Must possess a DoD Secret clearance at start. 

  • Remedy 9 experience. 

  • Prior or current experience with the AFNCR IT Services program.
