The Civil Group of Leidos is seeking a UK-based Subcontracts Administrator who is a motivated self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.  Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the Subcontracts Administrator is responsible for contracts activities that span the entire procurement cycle for the procurement of services.

 

To be considered for this role you will need to have and be able to demonstrate a strong and wide ranging technical background, together with experience negotiating sub contract terms and a successful track record of managing a variety of subcontract types, including governmental, public and private entities, interfacing with internal customers, other functional support staff, and suppliers.

 

Previous experience in the areas of Industrial Automation, Automotive manufacturing, Aerospace manufacturing or Mechanical/material handling would be advantageous.

What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for negotiating, developing and delivering NDA’s and service provider agreements with partner companies covering bespoke solutions on projects, within Automation and Automotive manufacturing environments from the design concept, through to installation, start-up and continuous improvement phases.

Key Responsibilities will include

  • Negotiating NDA’s, Service Provider Agreements and Supplier Teaming Agreements

  • Creating moderate to complex RFP solicitations in accordance with Government and Leidos requirements

  • Evaluating supplier proposal responses

  • Conducting price and cost analysis

  • Negotiating pricing and terms/conditions with subcontractors

  • Administering subcontracts of various types and complexity

  • Primarily supports commercial and state/local government programs

  • Identifying and resolving moderate issues and problems on assigned subcontracts and make recommendations to management

  • Performing subcontract close-out activities

  • Analysing risks and identify risk mitigations

  • Acting as primary interface between subcontractors and the programs being supported for all subcontracts related issues

About you:

Degree qualified or equivalent in a related discipline, you’ll already have advanced knowledge and on-site industrial experience as a Subcontracts Administrator within an engineering environment, coupled with a background in servicing the industrial automation, automotive or material/baggage handling industries.  You’ll also have: -

  • Successful track record of managing a variety of subcontract types, interfacing with internal customers, other functional support staff, and suppliers

  • Basic knowledge of the FAR and DFAR government contracts. Proficiency in word processing, electronic spreadsheet, analysis techniques, and workstation tools

  • The ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment

  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills, strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize work

  • Able to work independently, establish priorities, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision

  • Strong organizational, written and oral communication skills

Although the role is to be based from our Bedfordshire, UK hub, the successful candidate will be required to regularly travel to other locations within the UK and worldwide, therefore a valid passport and full driving license is mandatory.
