The National Energy Technology (NETL) Research Support Services (RSS) Contract has an opening for a Project Controller to support ongoing contract activities conducted at Pittsburgh, PA, Morgantown, WV, and Albany, WA. This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of an established team supporting a national laboratory’s research and development activities in the area of fossil energy. The successful candidate will interact with a diverse group of researchers, colleagues, project managers, and federal staff as part of their day to day functions.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Independently performs monthly and quarterly reports analyzing multiple assigned projects.
Evaluates and verifies cost compliance in accordance with contractual requirements and all Government regulations.
Creates budgetary cost plans for multiple projects for various fiscal years.
Communicates monthly cost metrics to upper management to target areas of improvement and implement corrective plans to amend the targeted areas. Target Areas include remaining funding, over/under budgeting of labor or other direct costs in comparison to the awarded plan and enforcing the metric of 10% variance of over/under current budget by generating a contractor-initiated proposal.
Report estimates to complete (ETCs) and estimates at complete (EAC’s) on monthly invoice and individual project reports to the DOE and management.
Bachelor’s Degree with 2 to 4 years relevant experience.
General understanding of industry practices and standards.
Ability to manage their own time to meet project requirements timely.
Proficiency in MS Office with Advanced competency with MS Excel.
Previous project controls experience in a government contract setting.
Previous experience using Costpoint
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Interpersonal skills to be able to effectively work across multiple levels of management.
DOE Q clearance or the ability to obtain clearance if required in the future.
