The ESA V program is an IT Services program supporting several customers within the Department of Justice. The program provides a range of IT services, including help desk, deskside support, Windows workstation engineering and maintenance, managed print services, ITSM, Active Directory services, and video conferencing, among others.

Leidos is hiring a Mainframe DB2 Programmer, will be a member of the Mainframe Services Team and will provide IBM Mainframe Services within z/OS.

 Responsibilities:

  • Document all platform service processes and procedures and maintain the artifacts in a document repository;
  • Perform systems operation support, including server system administration, general troubleshooting, and troubleshooting of complex engineering issues for hardware, software, and network components;
  • Responsible for the installation, configuration, monitoring, automation, integrity, support and maintenance of DB2. 
  • Serves as a Senior level Systems Admin/Programmer for DB2 Server and tools 
  • Review and Support (DB2) Security Patches, STIGs, and POAMs
  • Operate DB2 instances on zSeries hardware within virtual machines on IBM z/Os Platform
  • Handling day-to-day DB2 administration activities as well as OS level installations, upgrades, updates (patching) and support migrations with customer.

Location: This position may be remote but must be open to on-site support in DC, post COVID

Required Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma with 12+ years related experience as a IBM systems programmer with an IT equipment vendor, service provider, or a data center
  • Candidate selected will be subject to a Government Public Trust security investigation from the Department of Justice prior to beginning work. US Citizenship is required. Current clearance is not required.
  • Solid Professional experience in DB2  administration on IBM Mainframe supporting z/Os.
  • IBM z/OS and tools Installations, Customizations, Migrations, upgrades, maintenances, diagnostic, Back Up, Recovery  and additional duties
  • System (hardware) and application (software) installation and configuration
  • System monitoring using installed tools as well as external tools
  • Experience with configuration, troubleshooting
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to multitask and function in a fast-paced environment
  • IBM Z Mainframes
