The Leidos Defense Group has an immediate career opportunity for a Sr. Policy Analyst, Section 508, Subject Matter expert
based at Alexandria, Virginia.

This position will support the provisioning of enterprise-wide guidance, policies, evaluation and oversight for the accessibility of DoD information for disabled individuals, known as DoD Section 508. 
This job intends to provide analytical and programmatic support services to increase the awareness, application and effectiveness of Section 508.
The successful candidate will be a proven performer and self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Primary Responsibilities:
Apply Section 508 of the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) knowledge and understanding to support DoD CIO strategic goals in this area.
Provide Subject Matter Expertise in regards to Department-wide policy guidance and oversight for federally mandated Section 508 implementation.
Evaluate the Department’s level of compliance for creating Section 508 compliant Electronic & Information Technology (EIT).
Provide recommendations on how to improve the DOD CIOs efforts to develop, procure, and maintain EIT solutions that increase the accessibility of the DOD EIT environment.
Recommend considerations to be incorporated into the planning and formulation of Section 508 policy.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 8-12 years relevant experience or Master's with 6-10 years, or additional relevant experience in lieu of degree.
Deep knowledge of federal Section 508 law, policy, requirements, and technical standards and their application to ICT.
Trusted Tester 5.0 certification.
Experience testing websites, applications and documents for 508 conformance and delivering test reports.
Knowledge of automated and other testing tools, such as scanning tools, ANDI and CCA.
Experience developing and tracking remediation actions and plans for non-conformant assets.
Experience developing and delivering 508 technical awareness and training to a variety of audiences.
Knowledge of commonly used Assistive Technologies.
Knowledge of electronic document accessibility practices.
Good oral and written communication skills.
U.S. citizenship with an active Secret security clearance; ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:
DoD experience or familiarity, knowledge of the mission, scope and organizations within DoD and operating within the a federal agency environment at the Component or OSD level.
Knowledge of the policy development and adjudication process in a Federal agency.
General knowledge of Section 501 and 504 disability employment law and how it relates to Section 508.
Knowledge of the Section 508 complaints process for informal or formal complaints and/or experience with 508 related litigation.
