Leidos seeks a senior level Systems Engineer to work in a fast moving, collaborative environment that regularly informs policymakers on national security issues. The position will specifically be responsible for IT infrastructure planning, leveraging DevOps expertise to guide application development teams and translating and prioritizing requirements between users and developers. The role will involve collaboration and relationship building with analysts, data scientists, and IT partners across the enterprise. The position calls for engaging on a wide variety of projects to provide broad IT strategy and also hands on expertise and support when necessary.
Research and recommend adoption of new technologies.
Serve as the interface between the development team and customer management
Assist in the deployment and accreditation of web applications, and research and document methods for automating the deployment process
Provide hands on support in instances where dedicated team resources are lacking
Requires a Bachelor degree and at least 4 years of experience or Masters with 2 – 6 years of prior relevant experience.
Must have a TS/SCI with Poly to be considered
Demonstrated experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop
Demonstrated experience with at least one programming language such as Python or Java
Demonstrated experience (at least one year) with AWS
Demonstrated experience with data processing/ingestion tools such as Apache NiFi or Amazon Kinesis
Demonstrated experience with relational database technologies and SQL
Strong coordination and collaboration skills
Demonstrated experience with capacity planning for IT systems
Demonstrated experience handling security accreditation for classified systems and interfacing with information security teams
Demonstrated experience with version control software and DevOps tools such as Jenkins
