Job Description:

Leidos Maritime System Solutions (MSS) is seeking a Network and System Administrator to support our Silvertip customer located at NIWC Systems Center, San Diego, CA. This position will require a Top Secret Clearance. The Network Administrator will be responsible for maintaining system and server-based systems, security devices, distributed applications, network storage, and perform system monitoring.  Diagnosed, troubleshot, and resolved hardware, software discrepancies on NMCI network and system problems including replacement of defective components.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the installation, configuration, administration and maintenance of network systems, including associated hardware.
  • Responsible for updating to new systems, as well as support on current systems by tuning performance, allocation storage space, and implementing critical system patches.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise and application for system administration
  • Ability to develop technical solutions for day-to-day administration of Silvertip Network
  • Document and maintain end-to-end processes
  • Develop processes for tracking Configuration Items including customer provided items
  • Duties may include defining and specifying the implementation of standards, methods, and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision, accuracy, and reliability
  • Prepare and review technical instructions, engineering plans, technical designs, and other systems integration documents

Configuration Control:

  • Knowledge of software release management
  • Authorize the release of software change-sets, processes, and software configuration changes specified by management and other functional groups
  • Track all problems and changes in work products and report changes and current network configuration
  • Prepare, maintain and inventory hardware, software and associated technical drawings for assigned projects
  • Facilitate Engineering Review Board and Configuration Control Board meetings
     

Reporting/Meetings

  • Provide monthly configuration and document metric reporting for management review
  • Facilitate Engineering Review Board and Configuration Control Board meetings
  • Record and maintain assessment and audit findings, minutes, and action items
  • Perform Configuration Status Accounting
  • Maintain status accounting records to ensure that current and historical configurations of products can be accurately determined throughout the product life cycle

Basic Qualifications

  • BS degree and 2 – 4 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Active TS/SCI
