The Leidos Defense Group has a career opportunity for a Sr. MS SQL Database Management candidate based in Stuttgart, Germany.

We are looking for experienced, innovative and motivated IT Specialists to support enablement EUCOM’s mission objectives.

Primary Responsibilities:
This position is in support of a Department of Defense (DoD) organization, US EUCOM located OCONUS in Stuttgart, Germany. 
This position is required to travel OCONUS.

Responsible for supporting database systems and applications on a geographically dispersed Enterprise network with multiple types of servers and server applications.
Candidates must have knowledge and experience in major relational database languages and applications, such as Microsoft Structured Query Language (SQL) Server, Oracle, and Sybase.
Responsible for database server management functions supporting a global Active Directory infrastructure in a mixed environment. 
Requires a strong technical foundation in database structure, configuration, installation, operation and maintenance.
Must demonstrate the ability to pay keen attention to detail, possess a strong customer service orientation, and have the ability to work as part of a team. Will prov(DBA) support services, to include Tier 2 level expertise, as well as the planning, implementation, and monitoring of patching services for physical and virtual solutions. Monitoring and maintaining databases.

Ensuring technical modifications do not adversely affect database integrity, stability and system availability.
Implementing solutions for database backup and recovery infrastructure.
Optimizes system operation and resource utilization, and performs system capacity analysis and planning.
Provides assistance to users in accessing and using business systems. May provide work direction and guidance to others.
Will conduct upgrade of Microsoft SQL Server databases as necessary.
Establishes quality control and auditing processes of databases to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data and disk space.
Troubleshoots production problems related to SharePoint applications.
Designs, implements and maintains complex databases with respect to access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, and documentation.
Will be responsible for building and deploying updates working with several environments and QA process.
Performing backups, restores, and recovery planning and implementation.
Install, configure, and troubleshoot the Government-identified database production system. 
Maintain the SQL databases supporting Skype, CRM/TMT, and IIS/web applications.
Additionally, the DBA will provide remote support and/or travel to customer servers and sites as required.
The candidate will be required to work in dynamic fast paced environments that require team interaction and coordination of efforts.

Basic Qualifications:
An active Top Secret Clearance is required with ability to obtain an adjudicated TS/SCI Clearance.
BA/BS and 4-8 years relevant experience or Masters and 2-6 or additional relevant experience in lieu of degree.
Oracle, Sybase or Microsoft SQL certification.
DOD 8570 IAT Level III or greater.
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server mirroring.
Experience in Transact SQL (T-SQL).
TESA eligibility.

Preferred Qualifications:
ITIL v3 – Foundation.
Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA).
Automation using Microsoft PowerShell, VBScript, or batch files.
Adaptable to changing circumstances and operational needs.
Experience working in VmWare ESXi environments.
Experience with network storage (SAN/NAS).
Experience with enterprise backup solutions.
Understanding of Department of Defense Military standards.
Experience working with and supporting Cisco Routers and Switches.
