Leidos has been the technical contractor for the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Child Support Enforcement since 1996. Leidos currently supports more than 40 mainframe and web services applications used by states, employers, financial institutions, and insurers.
Technical documentation, end user materials, web pages and customer communications and reports must all be edited before being delivered to recipients. Leidos has a four-member team performing all technical editing on this contract.
This position is being opened to fill a vacancy on the technical editors. The position is responsible for editing, proofreading, and providing writing support on non-technical and/or technical documents. This includes drafting and editing procedures, contract deliverables, PowerPoint presentations, and communications for our end-user communities. For all external customer communications, documents must adhere to the federal government’s plain language guidelines and Leidos’ standards for quality, format, and style.
The position may also be responsible for collecting and compiling production metrics for contract deliverables.
Minimum of four years’ technical editing and writing experience. Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills. Experience with editing for grammar, punctuation, organization, consistency, and specific audience. Ability to work collaboratively with other teams. Excellent interpersonal communications skills.
Familiarity with editing technical documents. Experience working with templates and styles in Word. Experience in applying plain language standards. Familiarity with using Microsoft SharePoint. Ability to work on multiple projects and ad hoc assignments.
