Job Description:

Leidos is looking for a Software developer to provide support with enterprise search, digital forensic and analytic applications to a cadre of analysts with specialized skills. This position is located in the Mclean, VA area and requires an active TS/SCI with Polygraph in order to be considered.

The team is building a modern cloud-based system to replace a legacy standalone system.  Team members work in a multitasking, quick-paced, dynamic, process-improvement environment that requires experience with large-scale (Terabytes) database and application development, large-scale file manipulation, data modeling, data mapping, data testing, data quality, documentation preparation, visualizations, dashboards, and user interfaces.  These elements allow the analysts to view, and interact with, structured and unstructured data.

The team uses an agile development methodology with 2-3 week sprint planning cycles. The Software Developer shall support and develop a cloud hosted web application user interface.  The Software Developer shall create interactive graphics. The Software Developer shall create displays supporting analysis. The Software Developer shall create documentation supporting team activities. The Software Developer shall convert existing requirements to cloud requirements. The Software Developer shall transition the current standalone system to the AWS cloud environment. The Software Developer shall enhance the web application’s functionality, user interface, and accessibility. The Software Developer shall build tools for use by the team. The Software Developer shall provide life cycle support to the application in the AWS environment. The developer shall ensure the application meets Industry UI/UX development Best Practices. The Software Developer shall communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences. 

Mandatory skills:

  • Requires BS degree and 12 – 15 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10 – 13 years of prior relevant experience. May possess a Doctorate in technical domain.

  • Demonstrated experience leading a technical team of developers

  • Demonstrated experience developing interactive web user interfaces with Angular 8+

  • Demonstrated experience developing and using REST web services

  • Demonstrated experience working with the full, end to end, web stack

  • Demonstrated experience developing in an AWS cloud environment

  • Demonstrated experience developing using Python

  • Demonstrated experience developing with ElasticSearch

  • Demonstrated experience with relational database technologies such as RDS and PostGRES

Desired skills:

  • Demonstrated experience with cloud technology

  • Demonstrated experience developing machine learning models on text data

  • Demonstrated experience developing machine learning models on structured datasets

  • Demonstrated experience developing with a full-suite infrastructure (automated unit testing, code deployment and compliance, etc.)

  • Demonstrated experience developing with Node.js

  • Demonstrated experience developing with DeltaLake and Databricks software

  • Demonstrated experience using the Jenkins automated build tool

  • Demonstrated experience using data pipelines and workflow technologies such as Apache NiFi
