Government Health and Safety Solutions Operation is seeking an UX Software Design Engineer, contingent upon contract award, to support a project at the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The position will be located in the Bethesda, Maryland vicinity, but telework may be an option.
The successful candidate will work in an agile and fast-paced environment supporting the HRSA mission to solve unique and challenging problems. The opportunity will support our design process throughout the planning and development lifecycle for a multitude of unique user interfaces. You will work collaboratively with software engineers, domain experts, customers, and vendors to meet objectives and provide innovative solutions.
- Manages UI/UX for a particular product, project, or equivalent. Serves as a mentor for lower level UX Design Engineers. Communicates internally with team members, as well as with client representatives to communicate solutions to external stakeholders, while performing the following example tasks:
- Interactive prototypes
- Design and implement user evaluation methods based on business needs
- Help inform epics and user stories for product and project roadmap
- Work with various front-end frameworks (e.g. React, Angular, etc.)
- CSS framework implementation (Bootstrap, Material, etc.)
- Contributes to ResearchOps for individual products/projects
- Facilitates design thinking
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE and EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in graphic, industrial, product, UX, or web design and 5 years of related experience (digital media, visual communications, fine arts, or related field also accepted) OR Certificate of UX-related training
Master’s degree in design, HCD, UX, interaction design, or related field and 7 years of work experience or Portfolio of work.
Requires US citizen or US Person (Green Card Holder) with 3 years consecutive residency in the US with the ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
