The Research Operations and Integration (ROI) Spaceflight Analog Subject Recruiter (referred to as a Subject Recruiter) is responsible for overall subject recruitment activities required to fill crewmember positions for analog missions conducted in various spaceflight analog platforms used to implement Human Research Program (HRP) science objectives. The recruitment activities include contacting subject candidates, assessing candidate qualifications, and providing feedback to candidates as they work their way through the recruiting process.
Data confidentiality is a key element to this position, since a large amount of protected data is used in all aspects of the recruiting process.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop candidate Phase 2 (study specific) test schedules and distribute to stakeholders, and identify and document risk to schedules, and make recommendations to mitigate risk
Develop, analyze, and maintain candidate recruitment metrics and provide weekly reporting on recruitment activities
Develop prescreening questions based on study specific requirements, and pre-screen test subjects
Stay apprised of new requirements for studies included in each mission complement and incorporate into schedule, prescreening questions and metrics, as appropriate
Act as liaison between subjects and analog team for schedules, screening activities, and other mission related activities
Serve as the liaison between Clinic Ops and ROI.
Participate in scheduling of subjects remotely or onsite at JSC with clinic staff and the psychologist
Responsible for compliance with Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Assurance plans, policies, and procedures
Interface with subject candidates who offer interest in NASA analog studies and perform initial suitability assessment against study requirements, provide list of screening questions and coordinate subject responses back to the Complement Scientist.
Receive and process test subject applications, and provide qualified candidates’ resumes to the Complement Scientist, Deputy Element Scientist, and other stakeholders for review and approval
Coordinate background checks, remote labs, remote physicals, dental appointments, psychology screenings, Informed Consent Briefings, and badging for qualified candidates as they work their way through the screening process
Coordinate and manage all candidate travel and expenses for screening and mission related activities
Coordinate analog subject timesheet submittals during screening and mission related activities
Coordinate informed consent briefings with subjects selected to participate in missions
Basic Qualifications:
B.S. degree and 2 years’ experience. Demonstrated leadership ability, excellent oral/written communication & problem solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with NASA flight or analog operations processes. Previous experience working with protected data
