Job Description:
We are seeking a qualified Program Manager (PM) to oversee a Task Order on the ITEMS UFS contract. This position will be located in Springfield, VA or in Saint Louis, MO (either location works well). This individual’s role will fit into a larger team within the ITEMS UFS Program Management Office (PMO). The PM will have responsibility for coordinating new requirements with the technical team, successful execution of contract and corporate requirements, and general support to the ITEMS UFS Program Manager based upon contract priorities.
This Task Order is in support of the NGA Research Office. This office requires specialized, dedicated support for innovative systems including R&D Active Directory domains, Windows desktop systems deployed in a lab environment, and custom A/V systems with knowledge display walls that support Research mission requirements. The TO PM will manage Senior Research Engineers who will operate independently on a geographically dispersed team responsible for dedicated operations and sustainment support, systems administration, security engineering, asset management, and IT hardware maintenance.
The TO PM should have an understanding of all that’s involved with maintaining software baselines, maintenance/management of software updates, Security Engineering and Information Assurance, Active Directory Domains, Domain Name Servers, A/V systems and monitors (and knowing when to call for Tier 4 A/V support/vendor maintenance). The TO PM should also be familiar with Asset Custodian responsibilities, Architecture Definition Documentation and Planning, Release and Deployment management, Desktop Hosting Services, Desktop Image Management, Home Directory and Profile support services, Print and Scan support services, Desktop Software support services, Personal IT Device support Services, and Conference Center support services. An understanding of Domain Services including Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) services and Windows Patch management is also desired.
Primary Responsibilities:
Monitor and manage program performance, risk, cost and schedule; quality review and submission of deliverables
Interface with and provide briefings to customers and senior leadership
Coordinate contract, subcontract, finance, security, staffing, and procurement activities
Manage project stakeholders, project team, project risk, project schedule, project budget, and project conflicts
Coordinate resolution of project execution issues
Basic Qualifications:
Excellent briefing, writing, communication, administrative, and organizational skills
Experience overseeing technical teams
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently and under stringent timelines
Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with ability to obtain Poly
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree in a relevant field
Proven experience managing technical projects
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Experience managing Firm-Fixed Price (FFP) Programs
Understanding of Tier 1, 2, and 3 System Administration
Understanding of how to resolve a wide range of system issues, troubleshooting software, hardware, diagnosis of network issues, and addressing trouble tickets and service tasks across all tiered levels
Knowledge of the NGA processes and procedures and of NGA production systems a plus
Education & Experience:
Requires a BA/BS or equivalent experience and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience. e
Generally has 4+ years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects.
