Job Description:
The Medicare Learning Network Article Product Development (MLNAPD) contract team develops and disseminates the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), aka Medicare, policy translation products known as Medicare Learning Network (MLN) Matters articles. These tools are an array of accessible, actionable, and audience-appropriate educational materials specifically for healthcare providers and their billing personnel. The articles are based on Change Requests (CRs) written by CMS that reflect healthcare legislation passed by Congress. The goal of the MLNAPD contract is to help providers better navigate the reimbursement process, ensuring they stay focused on their mission of providing health care. The contract requires about 500 hours per year of a licensed Medical Doctor (MD) who writes MLN Matters articles as assigned.
Contract Job Requirements:
- Prior work experience in the health insurance industry, a utilization review firm or another health care claims processing organization in a role that involved developing coverage or medical policies and guidelines.
- Extensive knowledge of the Medicare program, particularly the coverage and payment rules.
- Public relations experience such as working with physicians groups.
- Experience practicing medicine for at least 3 years as a board certified MD or Doctor who is currently licensed.
