Leidos, in support of the United States Antarctic Program (USAP), currently has an opening for a SharePoint Systems Engineer in Centennial, Colorado.

***This position currently allows for telework due to COVID-19 restrictions. Post COVID-19 restrictions this position could possibly remain telework at the discretion of management but may require relocation to Centennial, CO***

The SharePoint Systems Engineer is a member of the Leidos – Antarctic Support Contract (ASC) Data Systems team and is responsible for all aspects of the SharePoint environment including architecture, engineering, lifecycle, support of infrastructure services and operations and maintenance across multiple geographic locations. As part of the SharePoint team, the SharePoint Systems Engineer will be designing, configuring, administering, and maintaining SharePoint services. They will share responsibility for the local farm and also for deploying SharePoint to remote locations and the deployment and configuration of a third party replication tool. They will be assisting with regular patching and maintenance, and ensuring uptime. The team also handles troubleshooting issues (technical and user), supporting site setup, assisting with permission management, and handling service requests from customers as well as content and knowledge managers.  This individual will work in a team environment to ensure mission needs are met and ensure functionality of capabilities of customers.

This role requires an individual that is technical, customer oriented and highly knowledgeable with SharePoint. This individual should be detail oriented in order to capture customer inquiries appropriately. The role requires excellent oral and written communication skills.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Interact with customers to handle service inquiries and solve problems.

  • Implement solutions for business needs using SharePoint Designer and InfoPath Designer.

  • Responsible for the design, testing, deployment and management of SharePoint servers at remote locations and configuration of the third party replication tool.

  • Provide patching and support maintenance for the local and remote farms.

  • Provide support implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems. Rapidly distinguish isolated user problems from enterprise-wide application/system problems.

  • Coordinate with customers and stakeholders to collect data, conduct analysis, develop, and implement solutions associated with incident tickets and requirements.

  • Provide follow-up reports (technical findings, feedback, resolution steps taken) for Root Cause analysis, engineering technical assessment and process improvement initiatives.

  • Update operations and maintenance documentation.

  • Assist Systems Administrators with vulnerability remediation and patch management activities.

  • Participate in an on-call phone support rotation.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of prior relevant experience or Master’s degree and 2+ of prior relevant experience; additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree.

  • Foundation of knowledge around SharePoint.

  • Experience troubleshooting issues in a growing environment.

  • Experience with reviews, incident analysis, and identification of issue trends.

  • Time management skills.

  • Strong oral and written communications skills.

  • Track record of working effectively within a team, and support to peers toward improved processes and results.

  • Experience with support ticket management systems.

  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

PHYSICAL AND / OR OTHER SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS: Deployment to Antarctica may be required in this position (estimated 4-8 week deployments). This position requires successful completion of the National Science Foundation (NSF) physical, dental, and psychological examinations for deploying to Antarctica. Failure to meet these requirements may result in withdrawal of employment offer or other employment action. US citizenship or permanent residency is required.
