The EMS Group at Leidos currently has an opening for a Network Engineer to support the GSA DIGIT mission.
This position is a 100% telework opportunity and we are seeking candidates from across the contiguous United States.
Primary Responsibilities:
Designing and implementing computer and information networks, such as local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, and other data communications networks.
Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning. May also design network and computer security measures.
Research and recommend network and data communications hardware and software.
Assist in network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software.
Conduct computer network support development and performance evaluation reviews. Identify, develop, and update operational support standards and procedures.
Applies expert knowledge of and ability to apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts to analyze user’s requirements, concept of operations documents, and high level system architectures to develop network requirements specifications.
Guides users in formulating requirements, advises alternative approaches, and conducts feasibility studies.
Researches and evaluates new concepts and processes to improve performance, and develops solutions to complex technical issues and problems that impact multiple technical disciplines.
Analyzes network requirements and capacity and leads design and development activities.
Incorporates new network plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations.
Develops network architecture and network design solutions and documentation.
Design and perform integration of new technologies into local and wide area networks.
Provide advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution of complex network problems.
Interacts with team members across multiple technical areas regarding Network Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts
Basic Qualifications:
Experience in the software development lifecycle, with experience delivering within DevOps toolsets/practices.
Experience working in an Agile development environment and tempo.
Working knowledge of ITIL 4.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
Well versed with using issue/problem tracking systems.
Candidate must have BS degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or related field with 6+ years of prior relevant experience or Master's with 3+ years of prior relevant experience.
Experience with data center design, implementation, and operation
Experience with cloud service technologies and best practices
Working knowledge of Network Performance Monitoring tools
Understanding of network security best practices and protocols such as IPSec
Preferred Qualifications:
Agile Scrum certification.
Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) certification.
Experience in a DevOps environment
