The Leidos Intelligence Group has a career opportunity for a Linux Systems Deployment Engineer on our large, multi-year contract for the development, integration, deployment and sustainment of large collection systems. The work that's being done on this Leidos-led, prime contract is extremely important to the government and offers its team members the opportunity to work autonomously and explore new technologies. Join a tremendous technical team solving hard problems with true mission relevance on emerging technologies.
This position supports health and status deployments to a large number of servers. The engineer will also be responsible for tweaking configuration thresholds and troubleshooting any issues that occur with the deployment. The engineer should have strong deployment interest and experience, be self-motivated, enjoy working directly with the customer and with the end-users. If you enjoy working with Linux and using Linux commands for troubleshooting this is the position for you!
Bachelors Degree in related technical field and 1-2 years of related experience
In lieu of degree, additional years of experience will be required.
Candidates must have strong Linux Redhat experience
Must have experience with standard LINUX commands (pwd, chown, crontab, mv, vi, egrep, cat, untar, ssh, sftp, etc.)
Experience using vi editor.
Knowledge of Linux file system hierarchy (files and directories, ownerships, permissions) is required.
Experience with problem troubleshooting
Strong attention to detail.
Experience with BASH
Experience with Software Version Control (i.e. CVS)
Experience with PuTTY
