Job Description:

Leidos is the premier provider of Cyber Security Operations to the federal government   We secure training systems and keep them mission ready.  Leidos is key part of the team that is helping to modernize the training systems and deploy a comprehensive standardized security posture.

In support of these efforts, this program provides for the definition, design, delivery, deployment and sustainment of a simulator common architecture across the Air Force's training portfolio, along with the creation of a SOC, NOC, and library and the execution of SCARS management services. The SCARS initiative will also incrementally implement a modular open systems approach (MOSA), as well as a set of common standards for Air Force simulators.  

Leidos operates & provides the Security Operations Center (SOC) and Help Desk, performs remote training system Cyber Engineering, and manages ATO compliance.  Leidos developed and maintains the SCARS Library and Collaboration website as well as providing engineering expertise for the development of SCARS capabilities

Job Summary

In this role you will be expected to lead cyber security & systems engineering tasks as well as remaining responsible for the various program IT systems. The position may require travel to sites both CONUS and OCONUS.

You will be expected to perform security related tasks including, but not limited to; identification of applicable software security requirements, providing guidance to products to meet those requirements and control potential vulnerabilities. Provide leadership and expertise to the SCARS teams to obtain relevant security patches, support testing of patches, and deployment of them to development laboratories and field assets and to report patch level status to the customer.

Participate in the identification and analysis of system and component level software security requirements to determine security criticality. Inspect, test, analyze or demonstrate security features of the products to formally certify security requirements have been properly applied. Preparation and coordination with the Prime customer, of security assessment reports along with other security documents. Support review of design, engineering analysis, and test data to evaluate compliance with software security requirements and adequacy of vulnerability controls.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direct technical interaction with other product teams with technical software security expertise.

  • Duties will cover all phases of system development including defining and allocating requirements, detailed design, code, testing, and operational experimentation.

  • Specific tasking will include hardening and verification of all STIGS, lockdowns, etc. from the ground up.

  • The candidate will be involved in planning, designing, installing, maintaining, securing, and monitoring local area networks (LANs) and network security (STIGs, Audits, Reports).

  • Documenting hardening and generating reports to be submitted to eMASS, as well as policy and process documentation will be required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Top SECRET clearance.

  • Bachelors degree in a related field and 8-12 years of relevant experience; or Masters with 10 years of relevant experience. 

  • Experience with USAF training systems.

  • A strong background in Distributed Mission Operations (DMO).

  • Must possess one of the following certifications: Certified Information Security Systems Professional (CISSP) and/or Information System Security Engineering Professional (CISSP-ISSEP).

  • Familiarity with eMass

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Security+ CE, CCNA Security, CySa+, GICSP, CND, or SSCP. •

  • CompTIA Security+

  • Experience with the NCTE

  • Experience with LVC
