Leidos is seeking a Distributed Systems Software Engineer in Alexandria, VA.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Modeling Simulation & Training Division of Leidos is looking for a Junior Programmer for a position in the Northern Virginia area. This position requires the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance to be considered.
The position is to join a team of 15 developers working on full life cycle development from design to user support of applications to enhance the capabilities of DoD test and training ranges.
The position involves the development and application support real time distributed applications for DoD test ranges. The candidate will be involved in full-lifecycle design and development of test range applications for ranges across United States.
The successful candidate is expected to write necessary code, ensure interoperability with other applications, generate test plans and tools and write design and user support documentation.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary duty is software development. The job entail taking conceptual requirements, proposing a technical solutions, iterating with customers on requirements, developing code and testing code.
The position is for an entry level developer to join a team that has Sr. Developers to guide and mentor.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
-Recent Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related degree program or experience that would provide equivalent knowledge.
-Experience in Java or C++.
-Experience or familiarity with software systems applications, design, development, and interconnectivity
-Experience exhibiting written communications skills to include technical documentation
-Experience with version control tools such as SVN, or Git
-U.S. Citizenship is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-Experience in programing TENA applications.
