Leidos is looking for a highly-motivated, first-class Accounts Payable Accounting Technician to process non-expert invoices in support the Finance Department of our client, the Environment and Natural Resources Division (ENRD) of the U.S. Department of Justice at 150 M Street NE, Washington, DC. In this role, you will gain many intangible skills, such as time and task management, critical thinking and problem solving, the ability to communicate complicated problems in a concise manner with internal and external colleagues of all levels, as well as solve complex problems using your accounting skills and available technological tools. Primary Responsibilities:
In general, the Accounting Technician reviews and analyzes financial data, documents and manual or automated accounting systems relating to employee travel reimbursements, including the following duties:
- Review and analyze reimbursable documents.
- Process accounts payable invoices.
- Prepare and review daily verification reports.
- Process receipts checks.
- Process debt collection checks.
- Scanning and uploading documents.
- Maintaining and inputting data into excel spreadsheets.
- Answer invoice inquiries.
- Compile documents for requests from auditors or on cases.
- Respond to emails and performing customer service functions.
- Troubleshoot and correct system errors relating to reimbursable documents.
Please Note: Must be able to work onsite 5 days a week in Washington, DC (once temporary Pandemic Remote work is over OR when asked to return in the office).
Basic Qualifications:
- Two-year degree in accounting or four-year degree in a related field (finance, business, banking, or economics) with 30 credit hours in accounting. (With the COR’s approval, relevant financial and accounting experience performing technical level duties in accounting, banking, or finance for corporations or non-profit organizations may be substituted for the education and credit requirements.)
- Knowledge of manual and automated accounting systems used by banking, financial and other institutions.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Suggested skills that would be helpful for this position:
-UFMS experience, highly preferred.
-Experience in banks and banking, highly preferred.
-Excel proficiency with skills to include various formatting, sorting, and correction of data, and table manipulations, such as:
- Table array
- Sum function
- Max min function
- Vlookup
- Trim
- Pivot table
- Arithmetical formulas
-Current or active clearance, preferred
