Leidos is looking for a high performing candidate to fill a position supporting the nation's nuclear deterrence mission with the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Office of Defense Programs as a risk manager.
The risk manager provides support to the Secondary Stage production modernization risk management program. Working with a high caliber and collaborative team, this role provides the federal program manager and project managers a programmatic liaison with Program Managers at the national security laboratories and nuclear weapon production facilities who are engaged in managing technical work to modernize our nuclear weapon stockpile. This position requires someone with risk management experience developed during engagement with Federal and/or Defense agencies.
This is a full-time position located at the NNSA offices in Washington, DC but remotely during the COVID crisis.
Primary Responsibilities
Assess threats and opportunities that may impact budgets and schedules for the Secondary Stage Production Modernization (NA-195) programs.
Execute risk management analytical procedures and the Risk Management Plan for NA-195.
Prepare risk analysis reports and recommend cost and schedule mitigation actions based on analytical tools.
Maintain the risk register and use it to conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis with the production sites.
Represent NA-195 as its risk management subject matter expert in the newly developed NA-19 Portfolio Level Risk Working Group.
Develop protocols for and lead risk review boards for the Director of Secondary Stage Production modernization.
Be the key point of contact across the various NNSA sites that are responsible for the execution of the programs’ project portfolio.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field with 2 or more years of relevant experience.
Strong verbal and written communications skills with the ability to challenge the functional areas on operational risk as well as the ability to convey risk exposure and requirements.
Demonstrated experience implementing operational risk methodologies and performing risk assessments including issue management and other related activities.
Currently possess a DoD Top Secret or DOE Q security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience applying Active Risk Manager, Safran, Primavera P6 or other project control related systems and software.
Experience with the NNSA Production Modernization office or other NNSA office.
Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP) Certification.
