The Defense Group at Leidos is seeking a SQL Database Administrator to join our team on a IT Contract in Ft. Belvoir, VA.
JOB SUMMARY
The DBA will perform day-to-day database administrative task that includes design, database structure identification, database schema definition, database access privilege management, database query optimization, documentation, database instance upgrades, long-range requirements, operational guidelines, and database protection. They should have experience with MS SQL Server, data backups, data recovery, and security fixes. Duties also include reviewing data withing the database, ensuring user data integrity, maintaining database support tools, database tables and dictionaries, recovery and backup procedures, and making recommendations regarding enhancements and improvements.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
•This role performs senior level database administration tasks and reviews the technical work of others.
•Conducts database design, database structure identification, database schema definition, database access privilege management, database query optimization, documentation, database instance upgrades, long-range requirements, operational guidelines, and database protection.
•Reviews data within the database, ensuring user database integrity, maintaining database support tools, database tables and dictionaries, recovery and back-up procedures, and making recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements.
•Monitors and manages backend data synchronization applications and external data source retrieval, applications.
•Examines customer problems, develop and present solutions, and then implements appropriate corrective action to initiate a repair or return.
•Collaborates on and implements technical solutions with senior management and clients.
•Provides remote and desk side support.
•Supports the development and adherence to procedures and policies.
•Provides basic mentorship to junior team members.
•Supports customer requirements in a 24/7/365 environment.
•Updates technical solutions, operations, and maintenance documentation for 24/7/365 personnel.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
•Requires BS degree and 8 – 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 – 10 years of prior relevant experience. May possess a Doctorate in technical domain. Experience in lieu of degree may be accepted.
•Higher level knowledge of standards, concepts and tools to be able to complete technology assignments.
•Domain level technical knowledge to maintain databases, ensure recovery and provide patches on SQL and/or Oracle databases.
•Experience working independently on technical database administration activities in support of a client on SQL and/or Oracle databases.
•Experience with SharePoint Database Services.
•Experience implementing a broad range of assignments requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks.
•Experience developing methodologies and presenting solutions to problems to senior management and clients.
•Experience interfacing with senior management and clients on requirements and solutions.
•Candidate must, at a minimum, meet DoD 8570.11- IAT Level II certification requirements (currently Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, or SSCP)
•Candidate must have an active DoD Top Secret clearance.

•Demonstrated Working knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Microsoft Windows, Oracle Solaris, VMware vSphere (Virtualization Management), EMC Isolon (Storage Management), EMC Data Domain (Storage Management) SVCC, Microsoft Structured Query Language (SQL) Oracle, MySQL
