Job Description:
The Homeland Security Solutions Operation within Leidos is seeking Test Automation Engineers with strong systems, software, cloud, and Agile experience to support a complex program to provide Agile development and operations and maintenance for critical systems on a mission-critical program supporting the Passenger Systems Program Directorate (PSPD) Interface and Support Processes division within Customs and Border Protection (CBP). PSPD supports the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and CBP critical missions, specifically screening and processing travelers at the ports of entry (POEs) into the United States.
In this hands on position, you will work collaboratively to architect, design, build, deliver, and enhance highly available, scalable, real time systems. You will exercise your judgment in determining and recommending the best solutions based on customer business objectives, timelines and other resource constraints. You will participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle including scope and work estimation, architecture and design, coding and unit testing. This role will support test planning and execution on an exciting new technology program from requirements definition through testing.
Primary Responsibilities:
•Support all aspects of software development (designing, coding, testing, debugging, and maintaining products) with emphasis on test automation.
•Interface with software developers, analysts, and other project team members using Agile SCRUM methodology.
•Translating and interpreting functional requirements into test cases.
•Support transition of existing manual test cases to automated testing to support DevOps
•Perform regression testing until automated, covering full suite of Operational Test Scenarios for builds and/or images to be delivered to customer.
•Develop test data to support either manual or automated testing.
•Prepare test report summarizing test results including anomalies, systems errors, and configuration changes.
•Support the software configuration management process and understand software components and their interface requirements.
•Verify specific action or function of code and demonstrate successfully to customer.
•Assist software developers in establishing automated regression testing.
•Support Customer Demonstrations, data prep, and UAT activities
Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other closely related field with a minimum of 8-years of relevant experience or 6-8 year of relevant experience with Master’s degree.
•Applicants must be a US Citizen with ability to obtain a CBP BI public trust clearance.
•4+ years of experience in agile software development with emphasis in software testing, test data management and testing automation
•Technical expertise in software development including fluency in one or more popular programming languages and frameworks, e.g. Java and Angular
•2+ years of experience with DevOps, continuous integration and source control tools, e.g., GitLab, Jenkins, SonarQube
•Experience with agile development and testing methodologies
•Proven experience working on a multidisciplinary team
•2+ years of experience effectively utilizing test automation tools like Selenium, Citrus, and security scanning tools to reduce manual testing
•Experience with automation tools/techniques to conduct performance/load testing
•Experience with issue/problem tracking tools, e.g., JIRA
Preferred Qualifications:
•Active CBP BI
•Experience with CBP PSPD
•Experience with OpenShift Container Platform (OCP), Oracle, web services, and IBM MQ are a plus
•Experience with AWS environment is a plus
•Familiarity with Test Driven Development (TDD) practices
