The Leidos Defense Group has an immediate career opportunity for a Chief Systems Engineer/ Architect, based in San Antonio, Texas.
This position is in support of the Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS)/Defense Civilian Human Resource System (DCHRMS).
In this role, the candidate will help our customers solve their most demanding challenges by modernizing Human Resource applications with a primary focus on leveraging Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (IaaS) and HCM SaaS Cloud capabilities.
The candidate provides leadership in maturing capabilities for application modernization and providing the solutions to fulfill customer requirements.
The Chief Systems Engineer /Architect provides the strategic roadmap and path forward that is executed by Agile teams through two-week cycles to implement the roadmap plans.
The candidate will work closely with the Agile teams, the customer, and other stakeholders to prioritize features and capabilities to best meet mission goals.
Will work with partners such as Oracle to keep ahead of upcoming product releases that may be leveraged to improve the end user experience.
The successful candidate will work hand-in-hand with management to develop optimal and differentiated Leidos solutions to be outlined in proposals, implemented on programs.
In addition to developing solutions, will help prospective customers and partners understand the value and benefits of the Leidos solution, explain technical features and transformation strategies, engage in proof of concepts, and troubleshoot potential problems.
Collaborates with customer, stakeholders, and integrator team members to bring solution options and drive decisions on the way ahead to meet customer needs.
Establishes and maintains relationships with Leidos partners, Oracle and other key vendors, and within Leidos to seek, qualify and leverage the best ideas, solutions and models to meet the customer mission.
Leverages upcoming Oracle releases to improve the DCPDS/DCHRMS product for the end users.
Engages with program teams to design, build out and sustain HR-related capabilities, offerings and solutions.
Provides senior technical leadership for establishing the main solution concepts, identifying key elements of solution and approach differentiation, and briefing management and the customer on options/solutions.
Active participant in customer meetings and planning sessions – preparing charts, briefing, and taking action items.
Actively works with partners to shape future capabilities and roadmap plans.

Masters Degree and 15-20 years relevant experience, or additional relevant experience in lieu of degree.
Must be US Citizen.
Public Trust Clearance.
Significant experience (5+ years) designing, building and deploying capabilities and offerings within Oracle HCM SaaS.
In-depth understanding of application, cloud, middleware, data management, cyber, enterprise IT experience leading the design and integration of enterprise-level technical solutions.
Experience in capturing technical requirements and defining technical solutions in the form of conceptual, logical, and physical designs, including the ability to articulate those concepts verbally, graphically and in writing.
Ability to synthesize solution design information, architectural principles, available technologies, third-party products, and industry standards to formulate a system architecture that meets client requirements and can be delivered within the desired timeframe.
Experience identifying potential design, performance, security, and support problems, including ability to identify technical risks/challenges and develop relevant mitigation strategies.
Extensive knowledge of the broad spectrum of technology areas, including technology trends, forthcoming industry standards, new products, and the latest solution development techniques; ability to leverage this knowledge to formulate technical solution strategy.
Experience with rationalizing portfolios of client applications into COTS cloud products.
Experience with refactoring application to take advantage of Oracle Software as a Service (SaaS).
