Airborne Solutions Operations (ASO) in the Defense Group at Leidos is seeking Mechanics with sheet metal and structural experience for modification and ongoing support of turbo prop and jet powered aircraft.
**A&P a plus but not required**
Primary Responsibilities
Sheet metal and structural modification, on going daily maintenance and support to include trouble shooting and repair, phase inspections, cleaning aircraft etc.
Perform sheet metal repair, fabrication and structural modifications, requires strong understanding and ability to read and follow technical data; interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, standard operating procedures, and manufacturing specifications in the modification / maintenance process. Requires strong ability to utilize precision tools while performing structural repairs and modifications to exacting standards, must be able to layout and drill precision holes, install rivets, hi-loks, and other hardware.
Perform modifications to include fabrication of sheet metal and composite components of aircraft in a timely manner while delivering a clean, safe quality product with attention to detail on the fit, form and finish.
Perform fitting and installation of fabricated and manufactured parts. Assists with troubleshooting of structural related tasks. Work with engineers to produce “First Article” parts.
Also may include all aspects of maintenance to include trouble shooting and diagnosis, phase inspections and flight line repair.
Qualifications
High school diploma and 5+ years of related experience.
Vocational development or on-the-job training with 3 plus years of aircraft structural work.
Ability to fabricate sheet metal repairs while delivering a clean safe finished product
Ability to read and follow structural drawings as well as OEM technical publications.
Experience in General Aviation, King Air, Challenger a plus
Must be able to pass CRC training.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret security clearance.
Ability to:
Crawl in and out of tight spaces
Comfortably work in confined areas in a kneeling or crouched position
Lift, balance and carry up to 50 lbs.
Work in enclosed hangars as well as exterior in year round weather conditions
Work off site as required
