Job Description:

Leidos has an immediate opportunity for a Software and Data Update Solution (SADUS) Engineer with military experience in data management for operational mission planning and execution. You will be part of a highly focused and diverse team of operational Subject Matter Experts, software engineers and security test engineers. Together, your role is to provide agile support to mission planning developers and program managers in bringing the highest quality mission planning software to the warfighter. 


This position is based on site at Eglin AFB, FL and relocation is available to candidates looking to grow their career with our world class team.  We are seeking cleared candidates with an active Secret clearance and are motivated to hire!

Summary:
The focus of this position is to prototype, validate, demonstrate and document SADUS solutions for Air Force mission planning needs to include management methods for obtaining, packing, distributing and deploying data used for operational mission planning and mission execution as well as patch management for distribution and upkeep of fielded systems. From a system of systems approach, the intent is to package data and client system patches used for Air Force mission planning and execution, make the products available to users from a common source (Data Depot) in a highly and in some cases, completely automated fashion, to facilitate mission planning operations and execution from unit level operations, e.g., F-15E squadron operations, to Wing level operations and Air Operation Center (AOC) operations.

This position requires extensive knowledge of data types used for operational mission planning and execution purposes such as DAFIF, ECHUM, DZ/LZ datasets, VVOD, Aimpoints, Local Points, Local Point icons, CSD, TLM, ECRG, CADRG, VVOD, Threat Parametrics, Order of Battle. The skill set required to be successful in this position includes extensive knowledge of these data types as well as extensive knowledge of how these data types are actually used for mission planning and execution at all levels, from AOC operations to the single warfighter on the ground with limited to no connectivity. This work includes extensive use of connected and disconnected networks, COTs and Air Force tools for creating and managing data packages and up-channel system health and update status reporting by automated means.

Responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing, editing and authoring technical documents describing and or defining

  • Network setup and client system software installation and configuration

  • Use of data management tools to create data and patch packages for use over internally built networks and operational networks (NIPRnet, SIPRnet, OTHERnet)

  • Training for SEIC team members on the processes and methods for employing the SADUS solutions for use in locally hosted software evaluation events.

To be successful in this position, required qualifications include:

  • Must possess a minimum of a Secret clearance and be eligible to obtain a Top Secret clearance. 

  • BS degree and 8 – 12 years of relevant experience or Masters with 6 – 10 years of relevant experience.

  • Skills with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, batch, or bash) to help with automation.

  • Networking skills and understand IP addressing fundamentals.

  • Knowledge of XML, JSON, Databases, CSV, and other data file formats.

  • Understanding file structures and typical file permissions settings.

  • Some knowledge and skills in using data compression technology.

  • Understanding Public Key infrastructure (PKI), asymmetric/symmetric encryption technologies, and operating system certificate management.

  • Understanding route planning and know route planning data needs.

  • Understanding of mission planning, mission execution, and post-mission analysis.

  • Experience writing technical documents using Microsoft Office products such as Visio, Access, Word, and Excel.

  • Experience with virtual machine technologies.

  • Industry-recognized current security certification.

  • Understanding and knowledge of the Risk Management Framework with an emphasis on continuous monitoring.

  • Expertise in unit level, wing level or AOC level planning. Previous mission planning and or mission planning data management experience is required.
