The Defense Group at Leidos is seeking a Defensive Cyber Operations Manager (Branch Level) to join their team in Adelphi, MD.
This position provides Program management and operational leadership to C5ISR Center Sustaining Base Network Assurance Branch (SBNAB) Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) Security Operations Center (SOC). Beyond advising and guiding on programmatic and operational matters, this position is tasked with providing direction and leadership to all senior personnel on the Program and to help determine and fulfil any requirements to maintain the security posture of SBNAB DCO and its subscribers. Success in this role is dependent on a combination of technical expertise in various cyber security technologies, strong project management and multi-tasking skills and strong people management skills in a constantly changing and highly technical environment.
• Provide program management and operational leadership to SBNAB DCO team
•Responsible for the professional development and cultivation of opportunities for direct reports to ensure continuous improvement of individuals and the security program as a whole
•Develop and cultivate opportunities for career growth and development to ensure the success of the security program.
•Drive implementation and adoption of new tools, capabilities, frameworks, and methodologies across all teams within the SOC
•Provide operational updates, technical guidance and support to SBNAB Branch Program Manager and Government leadership
•Identify and offer solutions to gaps in capabilities and visibility
•Promote and drive research and implementation of automation and process efficiencies
•Requires a BA/BS or equivalent experience and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience. Generally has 4+ years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects. Additional certifications and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
•5+ years’ experience working in a SOC environment
•DoD 8570 IAT I certifications required prior to starting
•Ability to effectively manage multiple team members in a highly technical and intense operating environment including cultivating opportunities for advancement and holding individuals accountable for performance and consistent service delivery.
•Ability to initiate, manage, and complete a project and present to an audit team or government leadership.
•Prior experience supervising employees of various labor categories and skills in efforts similar in size and scope to the SBNAB DCO program
•Must be a US Citizen.
•Candidate must possess an active TS/SCI, or a Top Secret clearance with a current SSBI, and be eligible to obtain a TS/SCI clearance with additional access to Special Access Program information.
•Understanding of core current cybersecurity technologies as well as emerging capabilities.
•Prior hands-on cybersecurity experience (Protect, Detect, Respond and Sustain) within a Computer Incident Response organization.
•Demonstrated understanding of the life cycle of cybersecurity threats, attacks, attack vectors and methods of exploitation with an understanding of intrusion set tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs).
•Familiarity or experience in Intelligence Driven Defense, Cyber Kill Chain methodology, and/or MITRE ATT&CK framework.
