Leidos is seeking talented Cybersecurity Co-ops, for our Bethesda, MD office. We are seeking energetic, motivated, self-starters for these technically sophisticated and challenging positions, assisting in the development of a variety of naval training and simulation systems. This position requires US citizenship and an ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance.
This position will provide cybersecurity engineering support for: 1) local area development networks (both Windows and Linux) at both a Leidos facility and a government facility, and 2) local area networks that tie together the computing nodes of the trainers. This support includes support for integrated security systems and solutions to manage information-related risks. This position will assist with assessing system vulnerabilities, implementing risk mitigation strategies, validating secure systems, and testing security products and systems to detect security weakness. All work is directly applicable to actual military training systems. Co-op students will gain invaluable, real-world experience on state of the art computer based systems. This is a great opportunity for students seeking a 6+ month co-op position.
- MUST be Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical degree, and have at least a 3.2 GPA.
- MUST be available to work at least a 6 month full-time co-op.
- U.S. Citizenship and eligibility to obtain a U.S. Government granted security clearance is needed to be considered for employment.
- Candidates must have either 1) software development skills under a Unix/Linux environment, 2) computer engineering skills, or 3) some cybersecurity skills Previous experience is desirable but not required.
- Successful candidates will be working in a professional environment and contributing to systems that will be used throughout the U.S. Navy. Therefore, candidates must be dedicated to producing quality work results, and must be extremely attentive to detail.
Employment is contingent on receiving an interim Secret clearance.
