Job Description:
The SD&A Division at Leidos has an opportunity for an Electrical Engineer (Compliance & Testing) in the Tewksbury, MA area. The Electrical Engineer will be trained to assist in the design of EMI/EMC compliance testing methodologies, test set-up, and supervision of their construction and checkout. This is a great opportunity for a junior engineer looking for on the job training and professional development. Primary duties include:
- Supporting and providing technical coordination of the successful execution of EMI/EMC development and certification testing
- Leading the development, review, and/or audit/assessment of safety of products compliance to standards in functional safety and related fields, including ISO 13849 and other similar standards relevant to systems and software engineering
- Technical writing of validation documents (Risk Assessment, Validation Plans, Functional Requirements, Validation Summary Reports)
- Compose TCF (Technical Construction File) and maintain TCF
- Participation in and approval of mechanical and electrical design reviews to ensure Product Safety, EMC/EMI and RF mitigations are properly implemented during the design phase
- Hands-on participation in test compliance of designs during development (pre-compliance testing)
- Conducting root cause determinations and corrective design action for any failures
- Communication with internal team members across multiple areas as necessary.
- Evaluate electrical products, components, and applications to ensure they meet specific standards and codes
- Review component failure analysis
- Confirms system's and components' capabilities by designing testing methods; testing properties
- Assures product quality by designing electrical testing methods; testing finished products and system capabilities.
- Conduct performance, reliability, and compliance testing
- Assist with equipment and process troubleshooting
- Attains compliance by isolating and resolving non-compliance issues; recommending product and process changes; initiating engineering change orders.
Requirements:
- BS Degree in Electrical Engineering (or similar field) with 2 to 4 years' relevant experience, or a MS in Electrical Engineering (or similar field).
- Ability to travel 10-20% of the time
- US Citizenship is required
