The Leidos Innovations Center currently has an opening for a senior space systems engineer This is an exciting opportunity to use your systems engineering experience to support the design and development of new space sensing capabilities on a variety of programs. We are looking for candidates that want to shape the future of space sensing in support of missile warning, missile defense, technical intelligence, battlespace awareness and civil/environmental applications of infrared technologies and software solutions. Experience with MBSE is essential along with hands-on experience with requirements development. Experience with IVV&T, risk management, and system certification is desirable. Primary Responsibilities
Support the program’s Chief System Engineer in executing the program’s system engineering tasks, including: requirements analysis and development, trade studies and analyses, verification definition, problem diagnosis and solution design, and related activities. The SE must be able to adapt quickly to obstacles and changing demands as well as evaluate systems and make recommendations for improvements and solutions.
The successful candidate will interface with customers and understand their needs, communicating the requirements and timeline for their system plan. Being able to clearly communicate concepts using both written and oral methods is essential. Will work with a diverse team to ensure projects are completed effectively and efficiently.
Basic Qualifications
Typically requires BS degree and 12 – 15 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10 – 13 years of prior relevant experience. Must have experience with MBSE methodology including tools such as Cameo NoMagic or equivalent. Must have experience working space sensing systems or ground data processing systems. Must have at least a Secret clearance.
Preferred Skills
Experience at Space and Missile Systems Center, NRO or NASA/NOAA desired. Product development, integration, qualification, launch and early operational experience desired.
Ability to obtain TS/SCI desired.
