Job Description:
The IT Active Directory Specialist is responsible for implementation and account administration of Active Directory (AD), Exchange, and the Global Address List (GAL). The qualified candidate will be responsible for creating, configuring, and maintaining accounts and Active Directory attributes. Additional requirements include incident support for troubleshooting and system mitigation strategies.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs root cause analysis of account and account access related outages by using Active Directory knowledge and following established procedures. Executes life-cycle events for Active Directory accounts to include:
Creating new Active Directory accounts
Troubleshooting account access issues
Modifying AD Objects
Collaborates as first escalation point for Service Desk interactions related to Active Directory associated user incidents.
Monitors the 24x7 incident bridge to provide support when required for Active Directory Account related problems.
Coordinates with Active Directory Engineers to support deployment of changes by following provided instructions for change implementation. Additionally providing feedback to the Active Directory Engineers and the applications that support the role on any recommended process / application improvements.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma and five (5) years of information technology (IT) relevant experience including six (1) year using Active Directory that includes implementing basic changes from established documented procedures and maintaining enterprise level Active Directory solutions
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2016/2019, Windows 10, Microsoft Active Directory, TCP/IP Protocols, and Group Policies
Demonstrated experience in using, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows computer platforms in an active directory environment.
Highly developed customer service ethic, coupled with a drive to deliver exceptional customer experience
Experience controlling and monitoring user access to the system
Possess good working knowledge and understanding of Windows credential stores such as Microsoft Active Directory and their related security capabilities and functions
Possess a high degree of tack, diplomacy and professionalism when dealing with all types of clientele
Certified in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II (IAT II)
U.S. citizen with a DoD Secret security clearance or higher
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior Navy NGEN or Marine Corps MCEN experience
Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certifications a strong plus
