Leidos is currently seeking a full-time Study Coordinator I to support the Deployment Health Research Department at the Naval Health Research Center in San Diego, CA. The mission of the Deployment Health Research Department is to examine how specific factors and experiences effect on the overall physical and mental health of service members and their families. This position will work closely with the Survey Operations teams to execute funded research projects that collects data from servicemembers to better understand how different military-specific factors and pre-existing conditions impact retention, readiness, and health.
Description of Responsibilities:
Manages large research studies, including all aspects, including study development, participant enrollment and data collection. Independently investigates and resolves any complications regarding study operations such as material storage, equipment failures, and website maintenance and management. Manages study operations workflow by developing schedules; gathering resources; implementing productivity standards; maintaining reference manuals; and implementing new procedures. Manages the collection and organization of research data from study participants Handles all study participant concerns and resolves participant complaints. Designs and implements both email and direct mail marketing strategies for participant retention. Designs a variety of marketing mail pieces, and works with vendors on all aspects of the printing process. Critically reviews, independently approves proofs, and ensures mailings are executed correctly. Works with vendors to request and review cost details. Monitors and provides guidance for updates for the study website and all social marketing sites. Directs the creation of multiple survey instruments and ensures all versions are tested with applicable quality control procedures. Establishes and implements quality assurance measures in accordance with all regulatory requirements.
Develops Institutional Review Board protocols, modifications, and continuing reviews. Develops and submits Office of Management and Budget and Report Control Symbol documents for renewal, as well as other study-essential interagency agreements Coordinates meetings with internal and external collaborators; creates weekly team meeting agendas and updates, and leads the meeting. Utilizes excellent verbal, written and material development skills to develop and present health and study information to individuals, groups and study participants. Maintains an understanding of the budget and works with the Principal Investigator, Budget Analyst, and Program Manager to oversee expenditure of funds. Contributes to the development of progress reports and manuscripts for publication in peer-review journals.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health or related field
- 2 or more years of work experience in a professional setting
- 2 or more years working in a human subjects research environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point)
Desired Qualifications
- Master’s degree in public health, psychology, or related field
Due to federal contract restrictions, candidate must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a Secret Clearance.
