Job Description Summary:
The Senior Manager, Service Operations & Spares Fulfillment is responsible for service parts customer and field support and related distribution to ensure maximum customer uptime globally, with the opportunity for role expansion to drive fulfillment strategy & execution. Exercises working knowledge of the service spare parts business discipline, strategy and distribution management. Must be able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manages the global customer services spares ensuring an acceptable level of service to customer service technicians, internal customers and external distributions, reps and external customers.
Owns US and International Order-to-delivery process and ensures fast, efficient, and accurate order-to-delivery execution
Leads Customer Fulfillment Teams supporting global FS teams, 3rd party FS providers, and international customers
Develops policies and procedures to maintain service levels and minimize inventory investment. Makes recommendations for process improvements to ensure cost effectiveness. Recommends stocking levels and inventory investment worldwide.
Maintain a forward thinking continuous improvement strategy for historical service spare parts management and maintenance.
Identifies and pursues cost reduction opportunities to lower cost of service spares global support.
Ensures procedures and metrics are in place to monitor the flow of goods and materials Coordinates and control the sales order process and associated information systems.
Provides metrics and reports on service performance.
Provides 2nd Level support issues of product availability, part #’s, and logistics
Manages the company’s 3PL relationship to ensure order execution performance, inventory control, and exception management
Ensure SLA’s and KPI’s are meeting expectations
Leverages 3PL tools and reports to ensure we are driving continuous improvement in the end-to-end Order to Delivery process
Optimizes the US DC and Depot footprint to ensure customer uptime, agility, and growth
Collaborates directly with senior leadership on the development and implementation of strategies to enhance the value and cost-effectiveness of our distribution model. (Assess, in particular, the opportunity to centralize our US Distribution
Travel Requirements: Up to 30% travel, depending on the needs of the organization.
Qualifications:
15+ years prior experience in Service Parts Distribution, Transportation, Customer Service/Customer Fulfillment
3PL Management
5+ Years of Leadership experience
Proven expertise hiring and retaining top caliber technical talent in the Boston area.
Experience with international shipping requirements and process
Inventory control & Lifecycle management
Experience in ERP integration and implementation
Strong understanding of contracts, staffing, service delivery, performance and operational excellence.
Preferred Skills:
Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures
Ability to analyze complex problems, interpret operational needs, and develop integrated, creative solutions
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community
Advanced analytical, evaluative, and objective critical thinking skills
Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports
Exceptional organizational, analytical and detail-oriented thinking skills with a creative spirit that is contagious.
The ability to operate in a fast moving environment and execute in the presence of ambiguity and change.
Excellent people management skills, including the ability to influence, negotiate and achieve results through direct reports and others
