Leidos is seeking a Custodial Superintendent to support our Facilities Contract at a customer site in Augusta, Ga.

Under the direction of the custodial services manager, the custodial superintendent oversees the day-to-day custodial operations of assigned facility. The custodial superintendent oversees the work of the custodial staff to ensure customer expectations are met. The custodial superintendent sets expectations and provide instruction of all custodial tasks; train employees on work procedures by demonstrating safe work practices, operation, maintenance and usage of custodial equipment/supplies. The custodial superintendent coordinates immediate response to concerns or events affecting facility operations. Provides customer interface to address concerns and ensure customer satisfaction; assist in timekeeping responsibilities of assigned subordinates; provides input on performance evaluations and disciplinary matters.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct ongoing training and custodial inspections. Provide employees with both positive feedback and constructive criticism on their job performance. Outline goals and expectations. Value each member of the team equally. Solve workplace challenges or conflict quickly and fairly. Identify employee resources/expertise and utilizes their experiences and skills to plan, schedule, assign and perform custodial tasks. Meet with staff at the beginning and end of assigned shifts to communicate updates, assignment changes and daily status. Participate in identifying, recommending, and implementing opportunities for improved custodial services. Monitor/order custodial inventory to ensure efficient facility operations

Ensures custodial service requests/tickets are completed in an appropriate and timely manner and closed or referred according to program procedures. Communicate updates to your manager about the team’s progress, potential hurdles, and plans.  Review and communicate to staff updates on policy and procedures, training guidelines, facility policies and safety procedures, as needed.

Performs related duties and responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  Two years’ experience performing custodial and/or maintenance tasks, including performing in a lead/supervisory capacity is required.

Knowledge of:

  • Supervisory principles;
  • Standard custodial/maintenance practices, procedures and techniques;
  • Applicable regulations, codes and/or statutes related to the use of cleaning agents, environmental/hazardous waste and waste management
  • Inventory management principles and practices;
  • Safety procedures.

Demonstrated Skill in:

  • Supervising subordinate staff;
  • Monitoring, maintaining and ordering inventory;
  • Understanding basic maps and schematics;
  • Resolving conflicts in an appropriate, constructive way;
  • Managing projects within assigned parameters;
  • Using applicable tools and equipment related to area of assignment;
  • Monitoring policies, procedures and workflow;
  • Working with diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds of staff;
  • Utilizing computer technology for communication, data gathering ;
  • Communicating effectively through oral and written mediums; and
  • Working as part of a team for consistent delivery of custodial services and to meet established expectations.
