Job Description:

Leidos is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to provide technical leadership for our UAS projects in Huntsville, AL. The Enterprise Architect will join the engineering team and support the Scalable Control Interface (SCI) program and design the future of the US Army’s UAS Open Architecture-based command and control system. We are seeking a candidate who can provide technical leadership to work with the customer, external stakeholders, and our engineering team to define, implement, deploy and sustain new capabilities in support of the SCI program.  The Enterprise Architect will also be responsible for providing leadership for UAS software/hardware solutions and is expected to have a strong technical and project engineering background.


Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Establishes system performance requirements using analysis of the engineer(s) in the development of enterprise-wide or large-scale systems.
Determines and identifies high-level functional and technical requirements based on interactions with the user community and knowledge of the enterprise architecture.
Designs architecture to include the software, hardware and communications to support the total requirements as well as provide for present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces.
Identifies, assesses, and presents options for meeting the functional and technical requirements including hardware and software updates or upgrades.
Responsible for developing high-level system design diagrams, then implementing, and seeing the system architecture through test and delivery of the Minimal Viable Product (MVP) to customer.
Ensures these systems are compatible and in compliance with the standards for open systems architectures.  Ensures that the common operating environment is compliant with current and future US ARMY systems.
Evaluates analytically and systematically problems of work flows, organization and planning and develops appropriate corrective action.


Basic qualifications:
Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering or Computer Science plus 12 years of applicable experience or a Masters’ Degree with 10 years of applicable experience
Minimum of 12 years engineering experience, including prior experience as Lead Engineer, IPT Lead or Program Manager, Lead Systems Engineer, or Design Engineer / IVT Engineer
Candidate must have an active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance
Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering techniques/processes
Large-scale software development and integration experience


Preferred qualifications:
Experience with UAS related software standards (such as STANAG-4586 or Cursor-On-Target)
Experience with US Army Aviation programs and customer engagement
Experience with legacy systems re-engineering or "refactoring"
Experience with open systems architecture
Experience with Program Executive Office Command Control Communications Tactical (PEO C3T), Project Manager  Mission Command (PM MC), or PM Tactical Network (PM TN)
