The Leidos Innovation Center currently has an opening for an Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Engineer in Beavercreek, Ohio. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience to assist the intelligence community with the prediction and analysis of space object signatures.
Leidos is seeking a scientist or engineer with experience in developing electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) signatures of space systems. The engineer will produce robust, all-source infrared (IR) signature assessments of space objects. The scope of this effort will include engineering support to produce IR signature assessments of foreign satellites using all-source information and signature prediction tools. The candidate will need to adhere to modeling procedures including, but not limited to, verification/evaluation of signature predictions against available measured data, production of standardized plots and tabular listings, and summary of methodology/key findings in a written report.
- Bachelor’s degree in physics or engineering.
- Must have at least 2 years of applicable experience.
- Must have an active Secret security clearance.
- Experience in data analysis using tools like Matlab
- Strong analytical and communication skills and ability to work individually and with teams are also required.
- Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance
- A background in IR signatures and space systems
- Experience with analyzing measured data for these types of systems
- Basic scripting and software development skills
- Familiarity with Linux operating system
- Experience with CAD modeling
