Key Capabilities:

Leidos is looking for a high performing candidate to fill a position supporting the nation's nuclear deterrence mission with the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Office of Defense Programs to provide guidance and coordination as Engineering Support Analyst for a major weapons acquisitions program. 

Working with a high caliber and collaborative team, this role provides subject matter expertise to the federal program manager and project engineers as well as establishing programmatic liaison with project engineers at the national security laboratories and nuclear weapon production facilities who are engaged in managing technical work to modernize our nuclear weapon stockpile. 

This is a full-time contractor-support position located on-site in the NNSA offices in Albuquerque, NM.


The Engineering Support Analyst is responsible for assisting the federal program engineers in overseeing near and long-term planning and execution for the W80-4 Life Extension Program - specifically, planning for nuclear and non-nuclear component development and the corresponding manufacturing modernization capabilities. 

The Engineering Support Analyst prepares and provides status and issue briefings to senior NNSA and DoD management and is the primary point of contact to coordinate responses to program management regarding the W80-4 LEP program status. 

The Engineering Support Analyst is responsible for managing the W80-4’s engineering team’s day-to-day program activities - administration, maintenance, and logistics- that enables the Chief Engineer to focus on program tactical/operational planning and execution. Including:

  • Organizational Management

    • Attends NA-125 program related meetings, summarize discussions, and provide advice/opinion as required

    • Oversees, reviews, and concurs with program documentation

    • Arranges and participates in program reviews, providing status and progress updates to the project team.

  • Departmental Management

    • Maintains cognizance of all NA-125.3 Engineering personnel assignments, backfills, and details and recommends additions.

    • Supports the Systems Management Team with program status updates and changes.

  • Performance Goals and Measurement Management

    • Identifies and documents program accomplishments and milestone completion

  • Integrated Product Team Coordination

    • Manages the Integrated Project Team (IPT) inbox and actions

    • Coordinates and standardizes technical and programmatic guidance across all IPTs

    • Oversees annual IPT Calendar/schedule

    • Creates and updates documentation

Required Clearance:

  • Active DOE Q or active Top Secret clearance

Required Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years of experience.

  • Outstanding verbal and written skills with demonstrated experience in producing correspondence, briefings, and program plans for senior and executive managers.

  • Experience working with staff on all levels.

  • Excellent skills in scheduling and project controls.

  • Successful experience in working within complex, multi-level operations.

Desired Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Related experience in a government, DOE, or military office.

  • Understanding of nuclear weapon components and logistics.
