Leidos is seeking a senior simulation engineer to play a critical role in the development and integration of modeling and simulation solutions within a large-scale military-operations training system. A successful candidate will be a hands-on software engineer and tasked with the most difficult solutions and challenges facing the team. Domain knowledge of military modeling and simulation is mandatory. Candidate will assist in managing development among a more junior staff in an Agile development environment.
A successful candidate will be responsible for architecture design and infrastructure implementation, as well as the implementation of entity level solutions in specific model instances. A candidate must be able to see the big picture, and also be able to execute the details. The system supports a much larger highly complex and distributed simulation solution that will be employed in a highly distributed and virtual networked environment.
A successful candidate will address pressing modeling and simulation issues related to physical models, behavioral models, and interactions of system architectural components to integrate solutions into a rapidly evolving distributed simulation capability involving very large scale entity based simulation. The scope being addressed is considered leap-ahead technology and the user must be confident and adaptable to work in a fluid, rapid paced environment. High value is placed on creativity, efficiency and solutions that address issues in the most effective manner possible. Second rate solutions will not make it in this world. A successful candidate must be able to explain and sell his ideas to others and possess a track record of success demonstrating that ability.
