Mobile App (iOS) Developer Intern

Job Description:

The Leidos GHSS Division’s Research & Development group is seeking an intern app developer to support MVP (Minimal Viable Product) oriented pilot & proof of technology projects in collaboration with Leidos Corporate Partners like Intel and Dell in emerging technology areas.

Commitment: 10-12 hours/week (for 4-6 weeks)

Primary Responsibilities:

• Create, maintain, and implement the source code to develop a medium complexity native mobile app on iOS and iPad OS (mobile and iPad)  platform that meet the requirements clearly documented in screen mockups and user stories

• Implement a user friendly, modern, and easily navigable user interface and menu options for the mobile app

• Use mobile app libraries to capture, save and integrate with photo, video barcode, geo location (maps) data

• Test the end-to end workflows on actual mobile devices (iPhone and iPad)

• Fix defects found in testing including any suggested enhancements in user interface or navigation

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in progress – preference for a junior level candidate

• At least academic experience performing software tests

• Experience with drafting development processes and test strategies or related academic documentation.

• Awareness of the software development lifecycle and Agile-Scrum development methodology

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Able to obtain a Public Trust clearance

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience with iOS and iPad OS mobile operating environments

• Experience with coding, developing and testing mobile apps using XCode, Swift or equivalent mobile app development frameworks

• Self-motivated learner with ability to accomplish tasks with minimum supervision, and ability to function effectively as part of rapid prototyping projects
