Job Description:

The Defense Group at Leidos currently has Network Design and Maintenance Engineer supporting the ABAD RADSIL program in our Ramstein AFB, Germany offices.  This an exciting opportunity to use your experience and skill supporting the USAFE – AFAFRICA team to bridge current operations and future Air Base Air Defense (ABAD) strategy, plans, and design.

Will be responsible for all ABAD RADSIL Government-furnished systems, equipment, test equipment and associated systems and support equipment identified as GFE/GFP and any additional equipment that is provided or obtained.  Responsibilities include establishing clear organizational lines of authority and responsibility to ensure effective management of the resources assigned to this requirement. Maintain continuity between the support operations at the place of performance and corporate offices.  The selected candidate will perform systems engineering studies, analyses, and evaluation activities.  Will perform as a subject matter expert and coach to staff supporting the daily maintenance of sensors and communication equipment. Will perform periodic maintenance and troubleshoot issues.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business or related field with 4-8 years of relevant experience or have 10 years of relevant / equivalent work experience;

  • Must have licensed training/certification or significant experience in a related field if servicing counter threat weapon systems;

  • Must be Tower and rooftop qualified

  • Experience in aerial defense weapon systems and/or network engineering in a large distributed environment with emphasis on military (US/NATO) operations;

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret DoD Security Clearance

  • Have strong qualifications in modern information systems, including computer hardware, data storage, network and distributed systems;

  • Need to know how to install, use and maintain modern operating systems, such as recent versions of Linux and Windows, on both real and virtual platforms;

  • Experience designing, maintaining and operating Radio Frequency systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous assignment history in USAFE

  • Previous experience supporting large and complex USAF contracts

  • Working knowledge of system-level requirements / software integration practices 

  • Demonstrated ability to work across internal functions and with outside entities to facilitate successful product completion/delivery
